Hey, I’m Julia. I like talking to people about how they found their last job.

Two years ago, I worked with a career coach and landed my first ‘real job’ post school. During this process, I realized a lot of things that felt like second nature to me were job hunting best practices. I started to talk to other people about this, and realized the huge gap in knowledge for most college/university grads.

The vast majority of young people aren’t taught a thing about careers or job hunting in school. This is a huge problem. The confusion, frustration, and downright cynicism I’ve seen in some of my friends and fellow students is disheartening. So, in this blog, I really want to help others navigate the job hunt and career with more ease and maybe a little fun.

Right now, I work as a Policy Analyst at an Ontario think-tank (www.competeprosper.ca).

I tweet and instagram: @jrhawthorn

And, of course, I’m on LinkedIn.
